Mariposa Academy of Performing Arts is the one and only dance instruction studio in Mariposa county. We are located just an hour away from the beautiful valley of Yosemite National Park. Classes are taught in ballet, modern, and jazz.

Our Goals are to develope strong, straight, supple and graceful bodies. To inspire the students to strive to learn as much as they can each lesson. To inspire a love of dance and creative expression. To create dancers!

Here at Mariposa academy of performing arts, we concentrate on the Cechetti method. This is just one of many different styles of ballet training. Ballet techniques are sometimes varied, but mostly stay the same. There are different styles of ballet technique that are taught around the world. Some of these styles are cechetti, Russian and Balanchine. The most of ballet technique is the same no matter what style you use. There are somewhat minor differences, but from a dancers point of view, they can make a big difference when trying to implement these different techniques in different studios. If you are a freelance dancer, meaning that you take class from many different ballet schools and studios, than you get used to adapting to the different techniques.
